| Our Vision: The Tucson Musician Club is a unique community of beginner to expert level musicians, vocalists, songwriters, and sound engineers who come together to: Share their specific technical knowledge, skills and abilities with each other Learn from musical collaborations with club members & guests Grow their individual and ensemble performance skills and styles Perform original and/or cover music both inside and outside the club Create original music Establish new relationships with like minded & talented members
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our Tucson Musician Club is a unique "member-centric" social organization for people who share a love of learning and playing music at all levels of proficiency. We do not discriminate between genre preferences, cover vs. original, beginner vs. professional, or any personal characteristics such as race, creed, political affiliation, etc. In fact, anybody and everybody (over 21 years of age) who can play a musical instrument, sing, write, record and/or mix music are all welcome to join our Club. We offer a very unique performer development opportunity complete with a safe and nurturing environment for our members to meet other like minded and talented people, to collaborate and perform with, to learn from, to teach, to experiment, to test new ideas and skills, to work through stage fright issues, to encourage others, to not worry about making mistakes, etc. And, as a bonus, we are also forging some great friendships and memories as we share and enjoy our mutual interests in music. We are now in our 4th year as a free club - No membership fees or dues spoken here! Instead, our club was founded on the notion of quid-pro-quo, benefiting in return for paying it back and paying it forward. All we ask in return from our members is that they:
Participate - contributing their time, efforts, and unique skills & abilities toward making our Monthly Meetings, Skills Workshops, Live Mic Nites, Collaborative Performances, Member Socials, Theme Nights, and TMC Shows a successPush their personal development - both as an individual and/or group artist Freely Share - their knowledge, skills, abilities, tips & tricks, and lessons learned with other Members
The Tucson Musician Club is ideal for those who have always wanted to perform as well as for those who want to recapture what they might have experienced in the past performing solo or with others before education, careers, family, auto & home repairs, etc....you know, real world responsibilities got in the way of their creative pursuits and developing to the next level.
Each month (except November & December), we hold a Monthly Meeting on the 4th Tuesday that is open to Members as well as the General Public. The meetings run from 6:00pm to between 8:30pm & 9:00pm in our defacto "Clubhouse" that includes a lighted and elevated stage, monitors, amps & speakers, and sound board...all of which are located in the Backstage Room at:
(Note, the TMC is separately owned and not affiliated with O'Malleys in any way that extends beyond our use of their Backstage Room as our Clubhouse.)
Doors typically open for our Monthly Meetings at 5:00pm for equipment and stage set-up as well as socializing. Most Meetings and other events start promptly at 6:00pm. We conduct a little formal Club business with open discussions for about 20-30 minutes before proceeding into "PlayTime" that includes musical performances, guest appearances, and 15-minute learning modules. PlayTime consists of approximately two hours of musical performances and technical demonstrations by Club Members and/or special guests from the local music industry. We divide PlayTime into three distinct performance sessions: "Scheduled Performance" hour allows Members and their select guests to perform a set of up to five songs, present something of interest, demonstrate a technical skill, etc. "Open Mic" hour is open to Members first then first time non-Members to perform a song or two as the moment strikes them. Caution...spontaneous accompaniment may or may not ensue depending on our Open Mic performer's stated preferences. After the initial performance, non-Members must become Members in order to participate again. "Open Jam" session (if time permits, meeting ends at 8:30pm)...open to anybody and everybody with the necessary skills to join in on the freeform jams.
So, if you'd like to explore this fun and unique development, growth, and regular live performance opportunity, contact the Tucson Musician Club through the Contact Us webpage or via any of the Officers noted below. So, the only question remaining is...can YOU come out and play?
